You may have heard that Rick Pitino said that Gorgui Dieng will not be ready for the Kentucky game. That was the big news coming out of Rick's FIU press conference today. But is that what Rick really said? Do we really think that Dieng will not play against the Cats? I heard what he said a couple times and he didnt exactly say that Gorgui wouldn't play against Kentucky. "My most optimistic timetable was to have him back for the WKU game and have him play against Kentucky, but it doesn't look like that will happen right now." I dont hear him saying that he will not play against Kentucky. I think he is saying that he was hoping Gorgui would be able to play the WKU game then play in the UK game, not he will be out both games. Do you think that Rick will not have his best defender and NBA prospect play against a young Kentucky team? We all know how bad he wants to beat Cal and this the best team that Rick has had since he has been at Louisville, but only when Dieng is in the lineup. My money is on Gorgui starting or at least coming off the bench against Kentucky on December 29th. What do you think?
