Eric Bledsoe Does His Best Blake Griffin Impression

Former UK point guard and future NBA star Eric Bledsoe is usually throwing the alley oops; last night he emphatically finished one off the assist from teammate Chris Paul. Watch as the 6'1" Bledsoe establishes residence in Lob City right next to Blake Griffin.

The dunk put an exclamation point on the victory as the Clippers defeated the Sacramento Kings, 95-83, for their 12th straight win. Bledsoe finished the game with 6 points, 3 rebounds and an assist. For the Kings, former Kentucky Wildcats Demarcus Cousins and Chuck Hayes tallied 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assist, respectively. Former UofL star Francisco Garcia also plays for the Kings; however, Garcia did not log any minutes as he remained sidelined with a back injury. Garcia is listed as day-to-day.

Pitino-bowl

As the FIU Panthers set their sights on an upset Wednesday in the KFC Yum! Center, many began to focus on key matchups.  While Rick and Richard were undoubtedly eyeing player matchups, those of us on the outside were eyeing the coaching matchup.  There was never any doubt that Rick's Cardinals would handle Richard's Panthers, but the uniqueness of the matchup garnered plenty of attention.  This meeting marks only the 17th time in division I basketball, father and son would coach against one another.  This was no doubt a wonderful occasion, especially within the Pitino family, however, there was also a basketball game played.

What did we learn from the FIU game?  Well... not a lot, really.  We learned that SVT is healthy again, when there was speculation that he may sit, unless needed.  We learned that when defenses give the Cards a ridiculous amount of room, they are very efficient from behind the arc.  We learned that Wayne is coming into his own, I know any good game from Wayne makes this Cards fan excited.  Last but not least, we learned that Chane has a, much needed, new stroke from the free-throw line.  45% from the free-throw line isn't going to wow anybody, but with only a sampling of 11 attempts, it's hard to imagine the Cardinals would have continued to shoot that poorly.

In all reality, there isn't a lot to be taken from games like these.  FIU was playing a risk/reward defense and attempting to remain in the game against the #1 defense in the nation.  While it was enjoyable to see a very fast and efficient Cardinals team, I think it may have been even more enjoyable to see a special family moment.  Watching the Panthers on defense, it's evident that he learned from his father.  I have no doubt that Richard will have a fantastic career.  As good as this Louisville team may be, Richard's handprints are all over the roster.

Alright fans, time to switch it over from the hardwood to the gridiron as we bring you the number 11 play from the 12 Plays of Christmas.  Teddy Bridgewater connects with wide-out Devante Parker for a TD that helps lead the Cards to a victory over Rutgers and a BCS berth.
