12 Plays of Christmas: #5

On September 15th, 2012, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers made the two and a half hour drive to Lexington, KY to face the Kentucky Wildcats.  A few hours later, they left Commonwealth Stadium with a win and $500,000, courtesy of our #5 play of 2012.

Coming to Commonwealth; Fall of 2013?

               Sting UK
Surely you recognize this guy.  If not, I’ll help.  It’s Sting, the legendary professional wrestler.  And if you spend any time at Commonwealth Stadium this fall, keep your eyes open;  he may be hanging around.  Of course, you’ll more than likely see Steve Borden; which is Sting’s real name.  And you’ll probably see him without the face paint (unfortunately).  You may even see him jumping up and down and screaming; but it will be as  fan, not the entertainer. Why, you ask?
Today, Kentucky Head Coach Mark Stoops made a splash(see what I did there?) in the recruiting game has he signed a 3 star Junior College TE, Steve Borden Jr.  Yes, that Steve Borden Jr., the son of professional wrestler, Sting.  What’s even better than signing a football player whose dad is Sting?  Steve Borden Jr. shares some of his father’s athleticism.
Checkout Steve Borden Jr.’s profile and highlight video below.  Oh, and we don’t recommend any Flare chops if you do happen to encounter Sting, er Steve Borden.
Sting II?
